Since last 3 days were Moving->Resting->Moving, we’ve started to feel like we aren’t doing enough. Today we’ve decided to hike somewhere, so while █████████████ was making food I was looking into different hikes, and stopped at the Sun Trail, which I cut into a smaller 12km chunk, that would take about 5 hours to complete.

As always, we got a yummy meal by █████████████. One of the best so far!

Balcony has been really cold to be in, so I mistakenly thought that it’s gonna be cold outside, and got pants and hoodie instead of just shorts and tshirt. Let’s just say I regretted it a lot during the hike…

We went to the supermarket, which was exactly on the way to the start of the hike, and got a few snacks.

We drove to the start of the hike, and had to drive a bit past it to find a place where we could park the car.

And so, it begun.

We met an elderly couple. They spoke to us in German, so we asked for English, and the old man translated what the woman was saying. They told us about the music festival that’s happening down the town, and only then we realized why there was so many cars parked in the valley. A bit later, we started hearing the bass from the songs, even though we were 4 kilometers away.

The path had a beautiful stream running on the left from it. We eventually reached a neat dam that controlled the flow of the water. It was locked.

We reached the waterfall, and saw a group of people going through the river and waterfall. Seems like a pretty interesting challenge.

We’ve reached the bridge, which had a nice view on the valley.

So many cars… Apparently it’s one of the biggest music festivals in Switzerland.

We saw a plane just flying around. Hobby aviation is so cool.

This bridge was our hike’s destination. It was the most difficult part overall, since it had quite a bit of ascent.

We walked around the bridge to get down to it. It’s called Bietschtalbrücke, and was built in 1913. While looking at it, I just couldn’t stop thinking about how was it even possible to build this thing in such a difficult terrain like this.

We’ve waited for any train to come, but seems that we didn’t get very lucky. We had to give up and just continue going, as it was getting late. Of course, as we walked away, the train did come, which we could only see from other side of the mountain.

For the walk back we locked in and did it much quicker. It felt like going to the bridge was about 3 hours while going back was 1. No rest stops this time. I was very tired at the end.

We’ve thought of having fondue after a long hike the entire time. We put sweet wine instead of dry (how it’s supposed to be), and definitely too much of it, but I ended up liking it a lot more than the fondue we had at the french restaurant. It was really flavorful and yummy. We didn’t really have a proper burner below (we put a candle which didn’t really do anything), so we had to go back and reheat it like twice. It was really good tho.

After fondue, we watched The Hunger Games 3, which was really cool, as always. Tomorrow we’ll finish the series.
