I woke up and called my dad, since it was time to make my first ever crepes.

I made the batter following my dad’s steps. Around 2/3 of the bowl filled with flour, 1/3 spoon of sugar, 1/2 spoon of salt, 2 spoons of sunflower oil and 2 eggs. Get some milk and heat it until it’s room temperature. Add around 1 cup of milk to the batter and start mixing everything around until there is no chunks. It took me around 10-15 minutes of mixing, and I still had some chunks in the end, but it was ok. One of the mistakes I made was that I didn’t add enough milk (or liquid?). I had to add another cup of water for it to be correct consistency.

Then you oil the pan with some sunflower oil (you kinda have to add a little of oil on every new pancake) and then put the batter on and spread it around quickly. Biggest problem to me was flipping them around. I tried multiple different methods (my dad told me to just do it with hand, but it hurt too much…). In the end I realized that flipping them around in air isn’t even that hard.

Overall I made like 20 crepes or something. And they were really tasty too!! 🥹 I finally made something tasty for the first time ever. When someone is there to teach you the way, it’s so much easier…
Now it was time to make the filling for the crepes. Back when I lived in Ukraine with a roommate, there was a frozen food shop and they sold extremely tasty mushroom and chicken rolled crepes. I literally ate them almost daily for my breakfast and never got bored of them. Now I want to try making my own rolled crepes, so naturally the filling is gonna be chicken and mushroom.
Yesterday I boiled the 2 chicken fillets. I added like 3/4 of spoon of salt and 15 black pepper thingies and boiled it for 40 minutes. After that I put it in fridge overnight. I did that yesterday to not have to boil the chicken today.

I cut the chicken into small chunks (was supposed to be cubes but…) and fried it while adding oil a couple of times. I peppered it a couple of times and then when it got decently oranger I put it in the bowl. While it was frying I cut the onion and got out the mushrooms (wasn’t really needed cuz I thought I could cut them into smaller pieces but they were frozen so).

I fried onions until they got golden. I salted them once with a pinch of salt. Then I put it to the chicken bowl.

Now last thing to do was cursed mushrooms… I tried making them multiple times by now, but for pasta, but failed 2 times already! This time I was following instructions given by parents. I put the mushrooms to fry on the pan and they got a lot of the icy water out. I salted them with a pinch of salt and peppered them a couple of times.

I then fried them until all water that was in them evaporated and then fried them a little more without any water. After that I added some milk cream.

And fried until it thickened to a good sauce. This was definitely the best run I ever did so far. Once done, I put it into the bowl too.

I tried it, and it was really really tasty, which made me sooo happy. I finally knew that what I made wasn’t a failure.

I added some filling in centre, then folded the left and right sides a little and then rolled them and then pressed with hand. In the end I got a big pile of beautiful rolled crepes with mushroom and chicken filling.

I got 3 of them and then fried them til golden.

It was peak. I put the rest under the package and put them into fridge so I can eat the rest in the next few days. COOKING SUCCESS.
