Today was the most bedrotting day of all we’ve had so far probably. I proposed to visit Villa Carlotta or/and take a ferry to Bellagio, but seems like guys weren’t interested in it that much. The forecast told us it would be raining all day, but as always, it lied.

Doing nothing is genuinely more tiring than actually moving around. After 8 hours of being awake and doing nothing, I’ve felt more tired than I’ve ever did on this trip… we talked about what to do for a while and finally settled on just visiting a town on our coast called Menaggio, walk and eat something there.

The pretty city centre of the town seemed smaller than I thought. And so we walked way less until we sat down at a restaurant we saw nearby. Me and █████████████ wanted to try italian pasta carbonara so we ordered it.

This was the yolkiest carbonara I’ve ever had… It felt like there was like 5+ eggs in this bowl alone. It was really good, but also incredibly satiating.

After eating, we went to a gelato place and I got pistachio and almond ice cream. It started melting literally the second we went out from the store! We found a bench in front of the lake and ate the melting ice cream there. I should’ve gotten a cup instead of the cone to eat it in a calmer way.

Looking at the violent waves, it made me sad that today is the last full day of the trip. It really was over… None of us really enjoyed Italy as much as we’d wanted to, because Switzerland really spoiled us so bad… I also don’t know why, but Italy has this atmosphere that makes me want to do nothing and just chill and be lazy. Maybe it’s a normal thing, lol. I still felt bad for not seeing enough things here.

If you think about it, we haven’t visited a single major tourist destination during this trip. It’s kinda cool we managed to do that, but it also indicates how we didn’t really do that much during this trip.

While riding back home, the carbonara and gelato kinda destroyed me. I think its because of so many eggs they included. I felt nauseous and literally ill!

We watched Spirited Away as our last movie, and I was left very inspired. Not my first time watching it, but I still felt very impressed by its scenery. I loved the onsen aesthetic and it makes me more excited that I’m coming to Japan soon. I cannot wait.
