I finished reading Hard-boiled wonderland and the end of the world last night. The ending felt a bit abrupt. I was laying in the bed, feeling like there’s still a couple of chapters left, and then the book ended. Overall, it is quite unique, but it never ended up trapping me into constantly wanting to read it, so it took longer than usual.

I’ve learnt that Haibane Renmei, anime that I’ve wanted to watch for a while, is inspired by that book. Seemed like the perfect time to watch it, and so I did.

I watched the first episode, and suddenly…

I spilled the whole cup of tea on the MacBook. I instantly turned it around and tried drying it with tissues. Unfortunately, I didn’t think to turn it off in panic, probably a grave mistake. After a minute of being turned around, it started to restart on it’s own, and then turned off.

I left it in this position since. Fuck. I didn’t back up Koneko manual anywhere online at all… I usually always use Git for everything, but for some reason didn’t end up doing it for the manual itself… Almost 2 weeks of work potentially gone, not to mention many other files, documents and other projects that I didn’t back up anywhere.

I feel uncomfortable having things like iCloud on, but in case something like this happens, it can be devastating. I scheduled Apple Care+ repair for tomorrow, will see what they’ll say.

I spent some time outside and went to the supermarket. I feel sad and worried, but for some reason, I have hope that tomorrow it will work fine and I’ll be able to get out my files. I hope.
