Today we’ve decided to check out Umeda. Mostly because I saw a place that has 2000 gachapons.

Umeda was unexpectedly crowded. Really didn’t expect it to be like this. If I were to compare, Namba is kind of like Shinjuku, while Umeda is kind of like Shibuya. There were scrambles in Umeda with huge amount of people just like in Shibuya.

Google Maps said that gachapon place is inside a Yodobashi Camera building, so we went inside. It was bigger Yodobashi than the one we visited in Tokyo. We walked through cameras, lenses, headphones, and then I saw that there’s a Hobby section, and omg it was miniature heaven. I really love miniatures, so I spent so much time just looking at all the stuff they had. Unfortunately, almost all of the miniatures were cars and trains (and train related things), so I didn’t really want to buy anything.

I’ve decided to buy a vending machine pack, which is cute. In future, I really want to get into making tiny miniatures. Like a working outdoor AC unit that has tiny LED and a spinning fan inside, or a working vending machine, etc. I’ve been obsessed with miniature electronics ever since I saw this:

It’s sooo cool. I thought about buying the powerlines too, but I didn’t like how plastic and thick they looked. I need something more realistic.

When I paid for the vending machine set, I realized that I lost my Suica. It’s not a super big deal, as I only had 1000 yen on it, but still a bit sad… Losing something always makes you feel concerned, because it’s just so weird how item can vanish from you, and you don’t even know where it happened. Thankfully it wasn’t passport or wallet…

We entered the gachapon hall, which was actually apparently part of Yodobashi. That was crazy. I went through everything in zig zags. I saw Deltarune gachapon and decided to gamble, and ended up getting Jevil instead of Ralsei, le sigh… After that I saw eepy madoka gachapon, and thought "If I get Sayaka or Kyoko I will kill myself". Well, I ended up getting FOUR OF THEM. I felt so fucking bad, but decided to gamble one more time and finally got Madoka. And then gambled one more time, and got Ralsei, thankfully. Bruh, I’m way too unlucky. I already gambled on Deltarune gachapon like 2 weeks ago and got Lancer instead of Ralsei too.

I also got sewing machine (which ended up being lamer than advertised) and traffic sign, which I didn’t open yet.

I was done gambling, and we got hungry. Looked at restaurants on the map, and as always there was a gorillion of them around. █████████████ proposed to just go to Yoshinoya, which was sort of like Japanese «fast food» chain, and I didn’t want to think further about it, so we went. You just order stuff on the screen in front of you. I got cheese beef bowl and egg omelette. It was tasty.

I don’t remember where, but I saw mentions of HepFIVE building being cool multiple times, so we’ve decided to go there. It was… girl heaven…? It was like 80% women and a billion fashion (which was all really good, though). There was stuff for guys too, but it was literally just women or guys with girlfriends. We went through all floors, and there wasn’t really interesting for us. One of the most surprising things was that there’s literally a ferris wheel on top of the building.

At this point, we got tired of walking. Usually I just either thug it out (but things aren’t as enjoyable anymore) or just go home, but I’ve decided to go to internet cafe to rest for a few hours, since the hotel was far away and I still wanted to do more stuff today. I went to DiCE, while █████████████ said he’ll just chill in the park. I arrived there, and had to apparently register in the app and give passport to use it. Couldn’t really comprehend what they were saying, so they just pointed at stuff in the book. Figured things out and got into my room.

It was chill. I pretty much just layed and went out a couple of times to get free drinks, which made the 1000 yen stay for 2 hours well worth it. I feel like I only recover energy when I lay down, just sitting doesn’t do it for me.

There was a Yakitori restaurant right at the DiCE entrance, so after some hesistation (since we both weren’t super hungry), we’ve decided to go there. The atmosphere was really good, and the guys working there were charismatic. I felt like it was a bit overpriced for what we’ve got (2000 yen each), but whatever. I like restaurants in which you fry things yourself.

We’ve decided to go to MEGA DON QUIJOTE. Since I’ve lost my Suica, I had to get the new IC card. I found the machine for it, and realized I was out of cash too… And we spent like 20 minutes walking around, trying to find an ATM. After a ton of walking through liminal spaces, we finally spotted ATM sign, and I could withdraw money… in world’s worst ATM ever. 660 YEN fee for withdrawal+ you could only withdraw 10,000 yen. I sighed, and decided to do it anyways. When we got out from the ATM place, we noticed that 7/11 ATM (the best one for withdrawals) was literally around the corner all this time. SIGHHHHHHH.

We walked through a district where MEGA DON QUIJOTE is located, and it was soo "scuffed", as █████████████ called it. In a good way. It was dirty, messy, but it had a charm. Also when I got home, I’ve noticed that people actually posed for my photo, lol.

MEGA DON QUIJOTE was huge. We’ve stopped at an isle that had both wallets and shoulder bags, which was ironic, because █████████████ needed a wallet, while I needed a shoulder bag. Although I wanted a new wallet too. I went through a ton of wallets, and surprisingly, none were better than mine. Mine has so many convenient pockets. If it wasn’t so old and full of holes, I’d love to use it forever. All the bags were also kinda bad. I ended up not getting a wallet nor a bag, and █████████████ got a wallet.

I tried a couple of random glasses on, and all of them looked sooo bad on me. The glasses I currently have are literally the only good glasses that fit me. Frameless and lowkey, and with a good color. I like them, but still feel like I look better without glasses. ███████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████

We went through snacks area, and I finally a bunch of stuff. Pocky sticks, kitkats, and random salty snacks. If I won’t get my suitcase packed with permament things, then I should just go and fill it with snacks on my last day.

█████████████ left a note asking to name the seal he bought to the room service worker. When we came back, they named the seal Gomashio. Such a cute little interaction.
