I think I slept 8 hours today. Still felt tired at morning.

Today’s snacks - egg sandwich and pastry thing. Egg sandwich was really really good, they didn’t lie about it. We have something similar in Ukraine, but it’s not even close to this.

█████████████ is busy with TetoLive today, so it was just me and █████████████. We’ve decided to visit Emperor’s palace.

It was frankly… pretty boring. But we expected that. It was sort of a «must-see» thing to cross off the list. We chilled under the tree for some time after walking around.

We then headed to Ginzo, which is a rich shopping district I guess.

30412.jpg

The contrast was pretty interesting - the place had a mix of industrial and poor housing, and very rich looking skyscrapers.

Regretfully, we somehow ended up in italian restaurant. Not sure how that even happened, we just wanted to eat before our fancy restaurant and everything looked either too poor or too rich while this one looked just average. The pasta wasn’t the greatest I’ve eaten.

We walked to the Itoya building. The street was really interesting, for some reason everyone just walked on it. There was no cars or anything. There even were tables and chairs in the middle of the road, which was really cool.

30358.jpg 30359.jpg 30360.jpg 30362.jpg

Itoya was cool, but it’s definitely a place for when you’re already living in Japan… Made me a bit sad. I ended up buying a few magnets here as souvenirs for family.

30366.jpg

After that we went to the Ueno park, which was also the «must-see» thing on the list that didn’t interest me that much.

And it was also pretty mid too. We didn’t walk into the Zoo, because we’ve heard that animals aren’t treated well there. Up to this point, the day was pretty mid and boring. We’ve decided to head to the Skytree early, as we didn’t have anything to do anyways. The transfer was quite confusing and we walked in circles a bit.

We got some drinks while we wait for our reservation time to come. It was very sweet and annoying to drink but tasty.

We then went on the 4th floor and went to the restaurant counter. The person was very nice and walked us through the line. This alone made it completely worth it, as we got to skip like a hundred people waiting. The elevator up top was insane. You don’t even notice that you’re going up, and you’re suddenly at the top already…

The place was literally packed with people. We instantly walked to the glass to see the insane view.

30423.jpg 30422.jpg 30421.jpg 30420.jpg

We then noticed that there was a sunset happening, almost the end of it. We arrived at pretty much the perfect time. I got to take the best shot of today.

30425.jpg

There was a million people, all trying to take photos of it. I’m happy I got a really good camera instead of trying to take the photo of this beautiful landscape on a shitty phone camera…

We then walked to the restaurant entrance, and we were let in. Everyone bowed to us and was very nice. Felt very rich for the moment.

30424.jpg

I ordered the glass-pairing for the course meal we got. Didn’t regret it in the slightest, actually probably the best decision I could have ever made. The view was so incredible, and we got to enjoy it in a peaceful and quiet place, while enjoying the food.

30382.jpg 30384.jpg 30385.jpg 30386.jpg 30388.jpg

A lot of the food we ate, we didn’t even really understand what it’s composed of. But it was all incredibly good and tasty. It’s funny, because I’ve read quite a lot of reviews from people saying that the food isn’t anything special and that it wasn’t worth it. It was a complete lie - just being able to see this incredible view in peace is worth it. And all of the food we tried was incredible too. I felt that all these reviews were probably written by some billionaires, for whom this is a normal experience.

30395.jpg

The steak was extremely good. I alternated the different condiments, all of which were amazing.

30427.jpg 30426.jpg 30428.jpg 30429.jpg 30430.jpg 30432.jpg 30431.jpg

I just couldn’t stop taking photos of the view, which in the end made it really hard to choose what to leave.

████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████

I went to the toilet, and it was the best pissing experience of my life.

I don’t really like sweet things that much, but this is the type of dessert that actually makes you reconsider whether you actually don’t like sweet things… Also the wines, I got 6 wines from different parts of the world. All of which were good, but my principle of «the sweeter the better» still held here.

This pretty much saved the day from being boring to being amazing. We wanted to visit that niche Shibuya skyscraper again, but by the time we got there we realized that we are tired and it’s going to be too late when we got there. And then someone jumped on the tracks, so Shibuya to Shinjuku line got closed. We ended up taking a bus instead, which was pretty cool. It forced us to walk through the Shibuya crossing at night. It was still busy just as usual.

30404.jpg

In the end, we arrived super late, at like 23:30. I ended up having to go through over 400 photos… Couldn’t write the diary on the same day, I was just too tired.
