Today is the day. It’s time to extend my Visa. I arrived at the place 40 minutes early and went to get my queue number via my online reservation, and…
Invalid…? Tried again and again and it didn’t work. Started to get worried. And then I see a notice telling that PINs start being valid 30 minutes before the reservation, and I breathe in relief. I went back to wait 10 more minutes, and came back when it was 28 minutes left… and it still didn’t work. Once again, anxiety… But it ended up working on the 6th try. Thanks for the worries, machine.
I counted numbers, anxiously. Eventually, it was finally my turn and as (kinda) expected, the process was easy and painless. Didn’t get asked anything at all, and got my new Visa for 365 more days. Yuppie.
I went outside and checked it again, and noticed that the new Visa will actually start a month after current one expires. I came back to ask if this is a mistake, and there was a Ukrainian woman sitting there already. She asked me what’s wrong and that she can translate if I need it. I told her the issue, and he told me that this is normal and has been like this since the start of the war. I remembered that I got automatic extension for 6 months when signing up electronically, so I guess this isn’t an issue afterall. Cool.
Felt pretty good afterwards. Another thing off the list. Bought not 2, but 3 chlebicheks to celebrate!
